» Herbarom® is a flavoring and coloring apple extract obtained from freshly juiced and gently dried apples. This makes it a natural alternative to food colorants. In addition to the apple-derived sugars – fructose, glucose and sorbitol – HERBAROM® also contains the flavor and color components of the apple. Depending on the type and dosage, the color spectrum of HERBAROM® ranges from a golden yellow, to a medium brown, to a deep, dark-brown shade.

For a more intense brown color with a lower sugar content, we have developed sugar-reduced variants of our natural apple extracts. The sugar-reduced apple extracts Herbarom AF 24-SR and Herbarom AF 24-SR-M30 in powder form are ideal for the development of nutritionally sensitive foods due to their striking color.

HERBAROM® opens up a wide range of applications thanks to its natural, fruit-specific properties. The fruit-derived aroma and color components, combined with the typical acid notes, help round out the flavor profile.

–Depending on the type and dosage, the color spectrum of HERBAROM® ranges from a golden yellow to a medium brown to a deep, dark brown tone. HERBAROM® is the first choice when you want to add deliberate color accents to foods without resorting to isolated colorants. HERBAROM® enhances the natural brown color of foods.

HERBAROM® is available in color strengths ranging from AF 03 to AF 24-SR, with HERBAROM® AF 03 providing a light color and HERBAROM® AF 24-SR providing a very intense color. From the wide range of HERBAROM® varieties, we recommend, among others, HERBAROM® AF 12 – which adds flavor and sweetness – or HERBAROM® AF 24-SR – which offers very high color intensity and reduced sugar content.
